An SCC Webinar
Format: Slides With Speaker Video
Duration: 84 Minutes
Original Webcast Date: November 11th, 2020
Overview:
Over the years, the cosmetics industry has failed to respond to misinformation spread by various organizations concerning the use of 1,4 Dioxane (1,4 D). This lack of a response, coupled with an ambiguous position from the FDA on the topic, has created the perception of a lack of safety in cleansers formulated with ether sulfates.
This webinar reviews the unique chemistry of ether sulfates, which has made them such valuable, utilitarian, and difficult-to-replace materials. It also includes a discussion of rinse-off formulations that comply with the new NY State limit of a 1 ppm 1,4 D max.
This webinar is intended for a broad audience. It contains information relevant to various aspects of the cosmetics industry, including technical, processing, marketing and safety. It will also be of interest to those developing skin care products, given the similarities of the impact of 1,4 D regulations on that product category.
