Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I received a code from SCC Headquarters to access content on the SCC Media Library & Resource Center. How do I redeem the code?

A: You must be logged into the SCC Media Library & Resource Center to redeem a code. Once you have successfully logged in, follow the below instructions:

Q: How often can a code be used?

A: Only codes given to the Journal of Cosmetic Science subscribers can be used multiple times, based on the number of users in the purchased subscription. All other codes can only be redeemed once.

Q: I am a Journal of Cosmetic Science (JCS) subscriber. How do I gain access to the recent JCS issues?

A: Contact the JCS subscription representation at your company to confirm if your company's subscription access is via IP ranges. If it is, you can access the recent JCS issues any time you access the SCC Media Library & Resource Center on a computer in the IP range your company previously provided the SCC, no account or login credentials needed. If it is not, ask the representation for the code you will need to gain access to the recent JCS issues, create your own SCC Media Library & Resource Center account and then follow the steps in the video above to redeem the code.

Q: I purchased a JCS article from a recent issue but do not see the PDF. How do I access the article I just purchased?

A: To access the article in the content reader, click the article’s name under the Table of Contents of the issue while logged into the account used to purchase the article. To download the PDF of the article, select the PDF icon next to the article’s name under the Table of Contents of the issue while logged into the account used to purchase the article.

Q: When searching content, what happens when I do a full-text search?

A: A full-text search (can see grey shading in full-text option button) will search the text in a document's file for your specified keyword. When the full-search option is off (cannot see grey shading in full-text option button), a search will only be done on text found on the SCC Media Library & Resource Center's pages (abstracts and descriptions).

Q: Why can't I access the latest Annual Meeting content for free?

A: Beginning with the 2019 Annual Meeting, only Full Access registrants from that year's Annual Meeting will receive complimentary access to the presentations from the meeting on the SCC Media Library & Resource Center.

Q: I have another question. Who can I contact?

A: Please contact library@scconline.org, or you may use the SCC Media Library & Resource Center contact form by clicking the Contact Us button below in the footer.
