17 virtual programs since April 2020. With the theme of EMBRACING BEAUTY, the goal was to craft events that embraced every aspect of beauty product development as well as speak to the consumers of the final product. This was woven into the fabric of the near 2 dozen events produced that saw a record-breaking number of almost 100 individual sponsors engaging with 12,000+ participants worldwide. Virtual programs and digital delivery of content dominated the first half of 2021. Live events were safely launched, starting with a sold-out Golf Outing in July, then a hybrid, full-day program in September to re-launch NYSCC’s presence in the “live conference/educational” space setting the stage for our main event, SUPPLIERS’ DAY in NYC. Without a doubt, hosting Suppliers’ Day in November saw the theme of EMBRACING BEAUTY come to life, as colleagues could embrace beauty and each other! The Javits Convention Center safely hosted over 6,000 attendees from 30 countries over the course of 2 days. While educational programs were reduced, new initiatives were launched that will annually return to the industry’s largest, national expo these include: INDIE 360/INDIE PAVILION, UNIVERSITY ROW, MENTOR/MENTEE EXCHANGE…and much more! There were also other programs that underscored the Embracing Beauty theme throughout the year, including: Formulating for Inclusion Celebrating Women in Science NYSCC Proudly Embraces LGBTQ+ Beauty Conscious Inclusion showcased at Suppliers’ Day Traditional webinars and blogs were not the only “digital” delivery of content: 2021 saw the launch of NYSCC’s Podcast “The Science Behind the Art.” Programs focused on K-beauty, innovations, color and hair in an educational, yet entertaining format.
