The data shown reveal no significant differences in growth responses between the untreated controls and those sacrificed at 21 days. These latter rabbits generally tended to show maintenxnce or a slight loss of body weight. Those that continued on test for 90 days generally showed a slight weight gain. There were no significant differences between the various dosage levels nor between the treated and untreated animals. Two rabbits at the 150 mg. per kg. level died, one on the 21st day and one on the 56th day of the test. Necropsy observations in rabbit No. 16 M that died at 21 days revealed marked diarrhea and mucosal sloughing of the gastrointestinal tract. Death appeared to be unrelated to the test treat- ment. The animal that died after 56 days of test showed evidence of pul- monary congestion, the lungs appearing consolidated and hemorrhagic with moderate quantities of fluid in the pleural cavity. Data are also shown for the mean primary irritation scores recorded and the day upon which they were noted. These findings follow a dose- response pattern with respect to both the intensity and the days on test at which these observations were noted. The data in Tables IV, V and VI cover the hematologic and blood chemical findings in the rabbits initially, at 21, and at 90 days. These
