Thirty cosmetic chemists attended the founding meeting of the Los Angeles Chapter, Society of Cosmetic Chemists, held in the Roger Young Auditorium, Los Angeles, or Tuesday, 18th March 1958. Dr. Paul Jewel was elected chairman pro tern, and Miss Betsy Bevins secretary pro tern. Harry Mace, Karl Westerberg and David Lozano were elected to act as the Nominating Committee. Mr. Maison deNavarre, first President and Founder of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists, will present the first technical paper at the inaugural meeting of the Los Angeles Chapter. His paper is entitled, "The Deteriorat- ing Effect of Non-Ionics on Preservatives."
