416 JOURNAL OF THE SOCIETY OF COSMETIC CHEMISTS SOCIETY OF COSMETIC CHEMISTS OF GREAT BRITAIN Annual General Meeting THE Thirteenth Annual General Meeting of the Society was held at 55 Park Lane, London, on Friday 26th May 1961. The President, Dr. H. W. Hibbott, was in the Chair. In his Report, the President summarised the activities of the Society during the year 1960-1961. Membership had continued to increase. Scientific Meetings had been well attended and there had been an exhibition of laboratory gadgets for the first time. In 1960 there had been, also for the first time, three issues of the British edition of the Journal. The President then paid tribute to the Honorary Editor, Mr. A. Herzka. The education course continued steadily and he made reference to a possible course to be held in the North-West of England. There had been a very successful one-day Conference in August last, organized by Mr. A. Herzka. There was to be a Symposium at Harrogate in July of this year--the first away from London. The second Congress of the I.F.S.C.C. would be held in London in 1962. Dr. R. H. Marriott, our Immediate Past President, had been elected President of the I.F.S.C.C. in August 1960 and this was an honour for the British Society. A sub- committee had been drawing up amended Rules for the British Society these would follow the classifications laid down by the I.F.S.C.C. and would be presented for discussion with members, later on in the year. It would be remembered that, in 1960, the Society had given the equip- ment for a Beauty Room at Halliwick Hospital. The President had made enquiries and had been informed by the Matron of the Hospital that the innovation had been very successful. Continuing the business of the Meeting, the election of Officers and Members of Council for 1961-62 was announced as follows: HON. OFFICERS--President, H. W. Hibbott, Esq., M.Sc., Ph.D., A.R.I.C. The President thanked the retiring Hon. Secretary, Mr. L. S. Smith, for the work he had done for the Society in his official duties in the last two years. Mr. Smith will not be entirely lost as he was elected Hon. Auditor to the Society. The meeting ended with a very pleasant meal. G.A.C.P.
