SOCIETY OF COSMETIC CHEMISTS OF GREAT BRITAIN 237 Election of Honorary Members A Special General Meeting was held at the Royal Society of Arts, John Adam Street, London, W.C.2, on Friday, 12th February 1960. 42 Members and Associates were present. The Chair was taken by the President, Dr. R. H. Marriott, who called on Dr. H. W. Hibbott to propose the motion before the meeting. Dr. H. W. Hibbott then proposed that: Maison G. de Navarre, PmC., B.S., M.S. be elected an Honorary Member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists of Great Britain. Mr. J. B. Wilkinson seconded the motion. It was then put to the vote, when it was carried unanimously. Another Special General Meeting was held at the Royal Society of Arts, John Adam Street, London, W.C.2, on Thursday, 7th April 1960. 53 Mem- bers and Associates were present. The Chair was taken by the Vice-President, Dr. H. W. Hibbott, who proposed the motion that: R. H. Marriott, D.S½., F.R.I.C., be elected an Honorary Member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists of Great Britain. Mr. J. Pickthall, seconding the motion, said that it gave him great pleasure to do so, as he had known Dr. Marriott for many years and knew well how hard he had worked for the Society and how well he had represented it internationally. The motion was then put to the vote, when it was carried unanimously. 1960 Summer Conference The 1960 Summer Conference organized by the Society will be held in London in August, and the following Programme has been arranged (there are now altogether eight lectures). Participation is permitted only when application has been made on the appropriate form and the fees duly paid. Each participating member will be entitled to introduce one lady guest, the only proviso being that the accommodation available for the Dinner is limited to 150. The application form must be used and returned together with a remittance of the appropriate fees to the Honorary Organizer, A. Herzka, c/o Pressurized Packaging Con- sultants Ltd., Ashbourne House, Alberon Gardens, London, N.W.11. Remittances must be made payable to "A. Herzka, Conference Account". The closing date for applications is 30th June 1960. Applications should, however, be returned as soon as possible in order to facilitate the clerical work of the Organizer. Late application may prevent the despatch of the pre-prints of the lectures and the allocation of a place at the Dinner.
