SOCIETY OF COSMETIC CHEMISTS OF GREAT BRITAIN 239 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING ['HE TWELFTIt Annual General Meeting was held at 55 Park Lane on Friday, 27th May 1960. The President, Dr. R. H. Marriott, was in the chair. The Hon. Treasurer's Report having been read and approved the Presi- dent of the Society, Dr. R. H. Marriott, delivered his Report of Council for the year. All facets of the Society's activities were touched upon. Member- ship had increased by 18 to 323. A successful Congress had been held at which 268 had paid the fee for participation. The President thanked firms which had contributed financially to the Congress. During the year a notable milestone had been the successful founding of the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists. Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Norway, Sweden and U.S.A. participated. Mr. M. G. de Navarre had been elected President of the Federation. Temporarily, the work of the Federation is being carried out by a Committee consisting of the President, Dr. Masch and Dr. Marriott. More complete information would be available later. Continuing, Dr. Marriott reported that there had been good attendances at all six scientific meetings, average attendance being 51. The Journal had been produced as usual but the July 1959 issue was unavoidably late because of the printer's strike. He paid a generous tribute to the work of the Hon. Editor, Mr. A. Herzka. In the current year nine Journals would be issued, five American, three British and one German. In his comprehensive Report, Dr. Marriott mentioned the reorganization of the Education Course, the possibility of a closer link with the Toilet Preparations Federation, the completion of the new Beauty Room at Halli- - . •.. •y ß _.. . •... :'%: .•-- .....
