708 JOURNAL OF THE SOCIETY OF COSMETIC CHEMISTS NEW YORK CHAPTER AWARD PRESENTED TO DR. PETER BARTELS DR. PETER BARTELS received the Award of the New York Chapter of the SOCIETY OF COSMETIC CHEMISTS for the best paper presented before the Chapter during 1963. The Award consists of a certificate, recognizing the merits of the paper, and a check in the amount of $250.00. This is the first time in the history of the SOCIETY that a Chapter Award has been given, and it is anticipated that deserving papers presented before local chapters of the Society will be similarly recognized in coming years. Mr. C. Fox, r., presenting New York Chapter Award to Dr. P. Bartels, 1. Dr. Bartels' paper, "Quantitative Microscopy in the Cosmetic Industry," was published in the August, 1964, issue of the JOURSAL. Dr. Bartels is director of the Microlaboratory of E. Leitz, Inc. He received his training in physics and biological sciences at the Universities of Hannover and G6ttingen in Germany. The presentation of the Award was made during the September 9, 1964, meeting of the New York Chapter by Mr. Charles Fox, Chairman-elect of the New York Chapter.
