Adulteration of beeswax •:: with paraffin wax can be determined quantitatively by measuring the '!- ratio of the intensity of the 5.8• carbonyl band to the 6.8u C--H bending :!:' band, since no carbonyl is present in paraffin wax. Figure 6 shows spectra of oil-soluble and water-soluble chlorophylis. The abundance of characteristic frequencies as compared to ultraviolet absorption spectra indicates that infrared analysis should be far more informative in chlorophyll research and analysis. P^•.r II--Ess•.s'rn•, O•s The nose is as sensitive as the most refined analytical tools for most odorous chemicals however, it is not particularly sensitive in discrimi- nating the degree of concentrations of the same odor. By experimentation, it was found that the concentration sometimes has to be increased by about 20% before the nose consistently detects a difference.
