P^uL BECHER of the Atlas Powder Company once again ad- dressed the Chapter on the subject of the "HLB Approach to Emulsion Stability." This interesting paper was presented on January 6th and was augmented by a color film as well as slides. Dr. Becher presented some of the background of the search for a correla- tion between HLB and some fundamental property of emulsifiers, leading to the present study of the spreading coefficient between two liquid phases.
