Glinically, hair had not regrown in the treated areas. The guinea pig skin was also relatively nonreactive, with the principal lesion being slight (or slight to moderate) acanthosis. In the guinea pig skin taken 16 and 24 hours after treatment, this slight acanthosis had a zonal pattern suggestive of reactions along corneum scratches caused by clipper blade teeth. In the hairless mouse, applica- tions of oil ot5 bergamot resulted in a rather severe mononuclear, and later granulocytic, cell infiltration into the dermis after 24 hours. Despite the lack of gross lesions, the hamster showed marked derreal and moderate epidermal lesions after 24 hours. Early resolution of these changes were noted, however, in the 72-hour section.
