CHICAGO SECTION NEWS ON APRIL 10th Mr. Edward G. Tajkowski spoke to the Chicago Section on "Progress Report on Silicones in Cosmetics and Pharmaceuti- cals." The address related to recent work in the application of silicones to cosmetics, and the present and possible future developments both in the silicone materials themselves and in their increased applicability to cosmetic preparations. Mr. Tajkowski has both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in science from Union College, Schenectady, N.Y. Since 1943 he has been with the General Electric Company, as a research chemist on rubber, plastics and silicones, and then later doing technical service and application develop- ment work on silicones. No meeting will be held in May due to the annual meeting in New York City on May 18th. All meetings are held at Henrici's Restaurant in the Merchandise Mart on the second Tuesday of the month. NEW YORK SECTION NEWS ON FEBRUARY 29th Mr. Carl Hetzel of Charles Pfizer Company spoke on "Up to Date on Topical Antibiotics and Hydrocortisone." Mr. F. L. Wurzburg, Jr., discussed "Tristimulus Color Measurement," at the March 28th meeting. Mr. Wurzburg is a graduate of Yale Univer- sity and is manager of the Precision Color Laboratory of Interchemical Corporation. Ladies Night on April 2$th featured Dr. Ernest Guenther of Fritzsche Brothers, Inc. Dr. Guenther showed one of his latest movies along with colored slides on a trip around the world. No meeting will be held in May due to the annual meeting in New York City on May 18th. All meetings are held at the Brass Rail Restaurant, Fifth Avenue at Forty-third Street, New York City. 330
