On August 1 members of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (U.S.) on tha European Tour arrived in Geneva for joint meetings with the Swiss So4 ciety. Complete details were not available at this writing, but papers wera presented by members of both Societies at two meetings held at the Uni-i versity of Geneva. Guests were present from the principal countries ott Europe. All arrangements were made by the Swiss Society headed by Mr. Kurt J.I Pfeiffer. During the five-day visit, guests were entertained at a welcomingl cocktail party, a tour through Firmenich and Cie., followed by a cocktaill party given by Mr. Andr• Firmenich, a reception at Sion by ,4rval, I S.At., a visit to L. Givaudan and Cie., and afternoon party with Xavier Givaudan as host. A final evening reception ended the festivities Geneva. On July 28 a reception was held to welcome the members of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (U.S.) on a European Tour to Paris. A joint meeting was attended by both the French, British and the U.S. Society to study the possible formation of an international society of cos- metic chemists. Papers were presented by Mr. Sam Cohen, Dr. Irwin I. Lubowe and Mr. M. G. deNavarre, representing the U.S. Society. Doctors Gohlke, Juon, Baberay, Stiras and Mr. J. Morell of the French Society also spoke at the meetings held at the Centre National du Commerce Exterieur. Final ar- rangements from the Secretary were not available as this issue went to press.
