74 JOURNAL OF THE SOCIETY OF COSMETIC CHEMISTS III. Build up our collection of scientific books, journals, and pam- phlets and encourage their wider, more frequent use. IV. Look into the possibility of setting up another Section or two. Our Chicago Section has made tremendous progress. What about the possibility of setting up a section in Cincinnati--or Kansas City--or Hollywood ? V. We need more and better yardsticks for evaluating our cosmetic products. Your SOCIETY should make every effort to set up standards which can be used to accurately measure and evaluate all types of cos- metic products. Such standards set up by your SOCIETY as an in- dustry-wide effort should help all of us to improve the quality and per- formance of all of our products. VI. Build up our Placement Bureau so that management can get through it the best qualified men for their vacant positions--and where our technologists can get positions challenging to their training and ex- perience with commensurate rewards. "With your help we hope that these planks will prove good sound timber to build our program for the coming year." Courtesy American Perruiner NEW OFFICERS FOR 1954 Left to right: Dr. Paul G.I.
