Society of Cosmetic Great Britain Chemists of 1968 DINNER AND DANCE The Annual Dinner and Dance was held at the Hotel Russell on Friday, 9th February. The principal guests were Professor and Mrs. Northcott Parkinson. The 230 guests who attended enjoyed an excellent meal in the Wharncliffe Suite of the hotel. During dinner music was played by the Bill Sayill Orchestra and the Trinidad Tropicanos. Both bands also played throughout the after-dinner dancing and the colourful costumes of the Trinidad Tropicanos were enjoyed almost as much as their pleasant steel band music. The toast to the guests was made by the President of the Society, Mr. D. E. Butterfield, during which the activities of the Society were reviewed. Mr. Butterfield particularly emphasised the need of the Society to co-operate with other bodies, such as the T.P.F., as representatives of the industry. In reply Professor Parkinson gave an amusing analysis of the Society's committee work as reviewed by someone outside the Society. A most enjoyable evening was had by all present, a measure of which can be judged by the reluctance of a large number of guests to call it a day when the "carriages" were due at 00.30.
