CHICAGO SECTION NEWS THE FIRST FALL meeting was held on September 13th. John Facq, microscopist for The Toni Company, discussed "Uses of Microscopy and Photography in Cosmetic Research." The address covered the applica- tions of microscopy to research problems and the background of micro- scopic techniques employed. Prior to his association with The Toni Com- pany, Mr. Facq was a microscopist in the textile industry. Miriam Gibson French, Beauty Editor, McCall's magazine discussed "How Are Women's Beauty Habits Changing ?" at the October 11 th meet- ing. The subject was centered on the purchase motivation with regard to cosmetics and toiletties. Mrs. French was formerly executive director of The Fragrance Foundation, publicity director of Shulton, Inc., beauty editor and promotion director of Charm magazine. All meetings are held at Henrici's Restaurant in the Merchandise Mart on the second Tuesday of every month. NEW YORK SECTION NEWS THE OPENING MEETING for the fall was held on September 28th. R. B. Willson, Chairman of the Honey Bee Industry Council of America, gave a talk on "The Honey Bee and Royal Jelly." A sound and color film on the life cycle of the honey bee preceded the address. President's Night was held on October 26th. This meeting was in honor of Dr. Kenneth L. Russell. Dr. Russell spoke on "Cosmetic Research--- Exploration and Evaluation." Charles D. Verde of Drage Products, inc., discussed "Modern Concepts and Significance of Viscosity Measurements" at the meeting on November 30th.
